CHIROPRACTIC CARE

CHIROPRACTIC CARE

Chiropractic care is a holistic approach to the well-being of your animal. Holistic therapies are designed to work with all external and internal influences on an animal in mind. Chiropractic care was developed based on the intimate relationship of the spinal column to the nervous system and biomechanics of an individual. It treats not only the symptoms your animal may be displaying, but works with the animal’s natural homeostasis to address the entire well-being of the animal. It should be practiced in conjunction with traditional western medicine to provide the best overall care for your animal.

Specifically, chiropractic care treats vertebral subluxation complexes (VSC). These complexes are areas of the spinal column and extremities that lack proper motion.

A very specific, localized adjustment is made to restore motion and proper function to the area. The adjustments are not painful and the animals generally appear relaxed as though they enjoy the process.

It is important to note that every animal will respond differently to chiropractic care. Animals with VSCs which have been long standing have learned to compensate for the areas lacking proper motion. These animals in particular may initially require a couple to several chiropractic evaluations within 2-4 weeks of each other in order to establish long standing results.

As maintenance, performance animals generally benefit from Chiropractic adjustments every 4-6 weeks to perform at their best. Other animals may require less frequent adjustments.

Drs. Brady Hellman and Gemma Gerardo have completed the chiropractic course at Options for Animals College of Animal Chiropractic. In addition, they have been certified by the International Veterinary Chiropractic Association.
